Vision and mission of the Task Force

Vision of the task force

Treatment aimed at improving the long-term outlook of children with heart disease requires the development of adequate drug treatment for common problems in these, including:

neurodevelopmental problems
impaired exercise tolerance
circulatory failure
cardiac arrhythmias

Mission of the task force

The task force on clinical drug trials within the AEPC is dedicated to:

Provide the paediatric cardiology platform for clinical drug research
Contribute to improve, generalize and harmonize existing good practice
Improve trial design
Consistent delivery of high quality data
Integrate perspectives / needs of children and their families’ into the process
For this purpose we join forces with patients, scientists from adjacent fields, public funders, pharma industry and regulators
