AEPC TEACHING COURSES FOR TRAINEES

Congratulations to the winners of this year's AEPC Clinical case competition

Last updates Apr 23, 2026

On 22 April the live finale of the AEPC Clinical case competition took place!

Our five finalists presented their case report for our jury & live audience. All our finalists presented outstanding and highly deserving cases, and the discussion was engaging and insightful, making it difficult for the jury to select the 3 winners of the free submission to EHJ – Case Reports.

We want to congratulate our 3 winners:

  • Andrea Greco (Spain) - Severe neonatal long QT syndrome type 3 with de novo SCN5A inactivation-gate variant: genotype-directed therapy combined with early LCSD
  • Maria Teresa Quarta (Italy) - Percutaneous management of Atrial Flow Regulator thrombosis in Failing Fontan
  • Jacob Gilchrist (United Kingdom) - A Narrowed Path: Successful Percutaneous Intervention for Post-Operative Coronary Artery Stenosis in a Child

The other two finalist were not left empty handed and were awarded publication in the AEPC journal Cardiology in the Young. Therefore we also congratulate Roberta Di Cosola and Manuela Lopes!

  • Manuela Lopes (Portugal) - Left Pulmonary Artery from the Common Carotid Artery in DiGeorge syndrome: A Case of Ductal Stenting as Bridge to Repair
  • Roberta di Cosola (Italy) - Left ventricular dysfunction and massive intracavitary thrombus in unrepaired tetralogy of Fallot with endomyocardial fibroelastosis: a case report

We thank all participants for submitting their case, the audience for attending the live finale, and our jury for their difficult task to review all high quality submissions & their live review during the finale!
