Congratulations to the AEPC 2023 YIA & best abstract awards prize winners!

AEPC 2023 Dublin was a great success with the highest attendance ever for an AEPC Annual Meeting, over 1,400 participants! The scientific program was much applauded, some new session formats were successfully introduced, and also the social program was very well attended.

Traditionally, the AEPC gives out various awards - the Young Investigator Award & Best Abstract prizes, and various working groups also decided to have working group-specific prizes and we want to congratulate all award winners with their prize!

Below you can find an overview of all AEPC prize winners:  

AEPC AND JSPCCS YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD (YIA)

The top ranking abstracts are selected upon abstract review, and are invited for presentation during the Young Investigator Award session. The winners were announced during the networking dinner. All presenters in this session are also invited to present their work at the YIA session during the JSPCCS Annual Meeting in Yokohame in July.

  

AEPC winner: Enrico Piccinelli (Italy) - O-37 Atrial flow regulator device in children and in patients with Congenital Heart Disease: an International Registry

JSPCCS winner: Masahiro Shiraishi (Japan) - O-33 Human cardiosphere-derived cells with activated mitochondria for better myocardial regenerative therapy

YIA finalists:
Rumi Watanabe (Japan) - O-34 Utility of the single ventricular stroke work index for predicting the prognosis of patients with functional single-ventricle physiology
Makoto Kudo (Japan) - O-35 The Impact of the Obesity on the Fontan Hemodynamics during Transition to the Adult
Raymond N Haddad (France) - O-36 Retrospective Review of M3C-Necker Experience with Transcatheter Management of Coronary Artery Fistulas
Precylia Philo Fernandez (UK )O-38 Transcatheter Balloon Dilation of Pulmonary Artery Band outcomes: A Multi-centre Study

All presentations were reviewed & scored during the meeting, and winners were selected based upon their scores received during presentation.

In addition, during the AEPC Junior session a quiz was held, where 2 registrations to AEPC 2024 Porto were given out as prizes. Andrea Freixa-Benavente (Spain) & Lisa Bianco (Italy) were the 2 juniors who won free registration for next year's meeting!
