AEPC-JSPCCS junior exchange program - Announcing the AEPC awardees

We were happy to see the large number of applications upon reinstating the junior exchange program (Young Investigator Exchange Program - YIEP) between AEPC and the Japanese Society of Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery (JSPCCS).

This exchange program - a visit to a paediatric cardiology institute in Japan for a training period of at least 4 weeks - was created to promote international collaboration and provides an opportunity to support the careers of our junior members. Junior members in good standing were can apply for this exchange program, The counter program from JSPCCS will provide an opportunity for three fellows from Japan to visit European institutes in the same period.

The great interest proved a challenge for the review committee to make a decision between the 26 applicants.

We thank all applicants for their participation (and of course encourage those who did not win this year, to apply again in 2024) and we hereby congratulate the winners:

3. Cezary Niszczota (University Clinical Center, Department of Paediatric Cardiology and General Paediatrics, Warsaw, Poland)

The matching with host institutes in Japan is currently being done and the awardees will be informed about the allocated insititution in the next weeks, so they can start planning their trips!

AEPC will pay for the economy class return ticket to Japan, and provide pocket money to the awardees.
