AEPC TEACHING COURSES FOR TRAINEES

AEPC Interventional Cardiology WG awards 3 Young Investigator Research Awards

Last updates May 20, 2024

The AEPC nterventional Cardiology WG has established their own Young Investigator Research Award to encourage juniors to participate in their scientific program and to simulate projects focusing on orphan diseases or seldom used interventional techniques.

As single centres will not be able to gather sufficient data to base future therapeutic decisions on, junior colleagues were encouraged to propose projects, to which every centre can contribute a few cases.

The best proposals can win EUR 1,000 upon completion of their proposed project within one/two years, upon which the results should be presented during the AEPC Annual meeting in that year (either 2025 Hamburg or 2026 Padova). The registration fee for that meeting will also be waived for the prize winners.

The following 3 proposals were selected during AEPC 2024 & we look forward to seeing their proposals come to life!

Michał Gałeczka (Zabrze, Poland)- The importance of transcatheter pulmonary valvuloplasty in native Tetralogy of Fallot.

Silvia Scalera (Rome, Italy) - European Multicenter Registry of the Impella Device for Mechanical Support of the Systemic Circulation in Pediatric and Adolescent Patients

Domenico Sirico (Padova, Italy) - Thromboprophylaxis after PDA stenting in patients with duct-dependent pulmonary circulation
