Save the date for the 2nd edition of the joint AEPC/EACVI Echocardiography course on pediatric cardiology & adult congenital heart diseases.
The course will take place on 1-2 October in Malaga, Spain.
The Second Joint AEPC/EACVI Echocardiography Course on Pediatric Cardiology and Adult with Congenital heart Disease, will provide a basic overview on the:
- Anatomy and physiology of major congenital cardiac defects as imaged by echocardiography.
- Use of echocardiography for basic and detailed diagnosis and follow-up of major congenital cardiac defects at different ages.
- Acquired cardiac defects in the pediatric age.
- Application of echocardiography in interventional (surgical or percutaneous) decision-making.
- Application of newer echocardiographic techniques including 3D, speckle tracking, blood speckle tracking to the evaluation of congenital heart disease.
- Basics of multimodality approach in the diagnosis of congenital heart disease.
- Ultrasound application in theater and in intensive care unit, including basics of transesophageal echocardiography, lung ultrasound and point-ofcare ultrasound.
- Participants will benefit from practical hands-on sessions.
- The course will also features direct visualization of congenital cardiac defects through anatomical specimens illustrated by cardiac morphologists, and 3D models of congenital heart disease will be used for teaching purposes.
By the end of each session, learners will complete a set of mock exam questions to consolidate understanding and prepare for the final assessment. The course is designed for different professional working with congenital heart disease patients, including Pediatrician, Cardiologist, Cardiac Anesthetists and Echocardiography Technicians Sonographers.
Led by a faculty of esteemed European experts-pediatric cardiologists, cardiac morphologists, pediatric cardiac anesthetists, and congenital heart surgeons-this course will prepare participants for the EACVI/AEPC Certification in Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography.
