17th DHZB Lange Symposium for Congenital Heart Disease: New valve - new power

Sep 17-18, 2022

Berlin, Germany

dbb Forum Berlin, Friedrichstr. 169/170, 10117 Berlin

After two years pandemic and severe restriction in personal and individual scientific exchange we start again with a face-to-face meeting regarding Congenital Heart Disease. Therefore, we would like to cordially invite you to our annual symposium in Berlin in 2022:

The 17th DHZB Lange Symposium for Congenital Heart Disease will take place on
September 17-18, 2022, at the dbb Forum Berlin, Friedrichstr. 169/170, 10117 Berlin

This year's symposium will be dedicated to the topic of interventional heart valve treatment

“New Valve – New Power”

Since the world's first interventional percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation by Prof. Philipp Bonhoeffer in 2000, the successful interventional aortic valve replacement by Prof. Alain Cribier followed just 2 years later. Since then, there has been an indescribably rapid and scientifically sound technological development in the field of percutaneous heart valve therapy, which not only significantly increased knowledge and therapy safety, but also expanded the therapy options. For a long time now, the focus has not only been on aortic and pulmonary valve implantations, but the AV valves have become the special focus of interest in development and therapy options. Thus, percutaneous interventional therapy methods are currently available for all 4 heart valves.

With this symposium we would like to bring you closer to the groundbreaking and latest findings and developments in the field of interventional heart valve therapy and also dare to look into the future. Beside the special indication of pulmonary valve therapy for congenital heart defects, most of the technological developments are mainly taking place in the area of structural acquired valve defects. Therefore, we also want to discuss the extent to which all these new developments can benefit our patients with congenital heart defects.

We are pleased to have gained very well-known specialists who, together with you, will cultivate scientific exchange in an open and friendly atmosphere with many opportunities for discussion as part of the DHZB Long Symposium

To complement the scientific program there will be a Get Together at the venue on the evening of 17 September 2022 to allow further contacting and continued discussion

We are very much looking forward to a very interesting symposium and hope that we will be able to welcome you in large numbers in September 2022.

Prof. Dr. med. F. Berger
Director, Dept. of Congenital Heart Defects/ Pediatric Cardiology
